Woolworths Blasters

This exciting program introduces children to the basics of cricket, helping them grow their skills through lively, game-based activities. Each engaging game, designed for small groups, gives every child a chance to shine as they discover and master new skills. Once they’ve built confidence, kids can look forward to modified games that add to the fun. All equipment is provided, and the sessions are held at Fagan Park, Point Clare, on Monday evenings from 5pm. The park’s shady areas provide the perfect spot for active play, especially on warm summer days. The local Cricket Association runs a new U9 competition after a holiday break for those children who have the skills to progress to playing on a field, playing in the usual cricket protective equipment.

It is mandatory to have Junior Cricketers wearhelmets & it is highly recommended seniors wear helmets, too. (The Club
President can give you many a story of when helmets have saved people severe
injuries)

Sixers Girls Cricket League  U9-16

The girls will play Stage 1 Format – i.e., 7 players, 16M pitch length & 20 (6-ball)
over one-day T20 games played on a Saturday, with a start in October,
progressing to December, then starting again after the school holidays and
finishing at the end of February. This girls-only environment will help them
achieve at their own pace. pace without boys who may have attained higher skill
sets at the same age.

The Under 9 team can be a mix of Boys and Girls.

Boys U9 –  U17 : This starts at Under 9s playing Stage 1 cricket – a 16M pitch, 6 players, closer
boundaries, 16 overs, everybody bats and bowls. Under 11 go to the next level –
Stage 2  with 9 players. U15 play Stage 3  – full-length pitches, but
with a smaller ball.

The top-level U17 is the “Youth League,” a
40-over competition played on a Friday evening at the turf oval
